What ethernet cards are compatible with the C500? Someone put an Asante card in this machine, but "Ethernet" doesn't show up in the TCP/IP control panel, just "MacIP". So I found a 3com card, a 3C900B-TPO EtherLink XL PCI, but it doesn't seem to be recognized by the machine either. Apple System Profiler lists unknown for both > cards.
Is there a list of cards compatible with this machine? Any for sale?

The C500 should work with any card that has Mac drivers for the OS your using. Asante is one of the better companies for Mac support. I find it hard to believe your card doesn't have drivers that will work with the OS you are using. They make lots of cards so it can be tricky to find the correct drivers. Depending on the chip set used by the 3 Com card there maybe generic Mac drivers that will work.Any card using the Realtek chip has drivers for using in OSX. Doesn't seem to be a list of which cards these are. But your not using OSX anyway. List your Asante cards model number and someone maybe able to come up with drivers. A few cards even use the Apple OS supplied drivers. They would perhaps only be installed if the card was in the machine when the OS was installed. Will S
