Thanks Will, Looks promising, I just bought an Acard 6280 and its been just what I needed, DVD's in OSX (10.2.6) are flawless and no 8 gig limitation with installs,
its been working quite well, wished I bought an ATA66 back when...Phillip

Glad it's working well for you. If that is a DVD burner what model are you using? The one flaw of the Acard/Sonnet ATA/66 is only a few CDRW and perhaps DVD burners work with it. Two different DVD's I tried with it both read DVD's and CD's but show hardware errors if I try to burn CDR's or DVD's. So I ended up putting the Pioneer DVD- RW A05/105 in a firewire case. Where it works flawlessly. It would have been cheaper to buy a newer ATA card which would have worked with it and sold the ATA 66 card. The OSX 8gb limit with the Sonnet 100/133/ Promise/Firm Tek card and unknown DVD burner use with Acard kept me from going that route. So I am interested in reports of DVD burners which work with the Acards . Will S
