Hi George- I had been running 10.2.6 on an old, slow 4 gig SCSI external on my s900. A few days ago I copied that entire drive to my 80 gig WD Caviar drive attached to a ACARD AHARD PCI Ultra ATA/66 PCI card in slot F (slot 6). This drive has 4 partitions 3 of which are about 2.5 gigs and one large one for storage. I had done these partitions long before I dreamt about installing X and now, the small ones were too small for what I wanted to transfer. Although concerned about position, first 8 gigs not being available (which doesn't seem to be relevant here) I copied the 4 gig to the large storage drive. I was unsuccessful at first because I wasn't getting the X invisible files. This list suggested CarbonCopy Cloner which moved everything. I was able to boot up from that large drive and soon after upgraded to 10.2.8. It runs well so far. Perhaps you can try downloading CarbonCopy Cloner and drag the OS to the smaller partition if it doesn't work on the larger. I don't know if this helps-- and don't know what other things you have installed that might be running interference. I have a jam of hardware and RAM. If it helps you to see the set up I can send it. I think that the main thing here is that it is doable. Good luck. dan_A -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
