Well Be.inc is dead, but the BeOS community still alive and pretty active, there's even a new version coming up fo x86 nly for now, it's been made based on the old work from Be.inc and it's interresting. But OpenBeOS is being ported to ppc, it's planned tu run on Pegasos II board.
BeOS R5 so the last one proted to ppc is still useable now, I use to use it all the Time on my PCs, and on my S900 with 2x200 mhz ppc 604e, it run far better than any Mac OS, and is more useable with more modern tool than any Mac OS 7,8,9.
