I know we discussed this within the last couple of months, but I can't remember the details.

Does the Acard based ATA-133 card work in the lower slots of the S900/J700? And how is its compatibility with ATAPI (removable media) devices such as CDROM and DVDROM drives?

I've been looking for a replacement for my VST UltraTek/66 card, but as I recall, the earlier cards that work in the lower slots weren't so hot with the ATAPI support. And some of hte cards (those with Firmtek firmware?) don't work in the lower slots.

The Acard based ATA-133 is the SIIG, Acard and (I think) Sonnet cards. Not so sure about the Sonnet. Firmtek's web site claims that there is an UltraTek 133 and I'd like to know who sells it, so that I can avoid it.

Hey Jeff, I purchased the Acard 6280 from OWC a couple of months ago, rather then the SIIG and its been preforming well
quite well DVD playback is the best that its been since way back with "Wired4DVD" and the promise cards that filled my
S900's, I tried to purchase a ATA/66 (acard) and didn't have much luck so I purchased a second and that has been working
well also. Phillip
