I screwed up. I'm sorry. Blame it on frustration. I've been fighting this for almost a year now. So here goes. My set-up. S900, OS 9.1 4 GB & 8 GB scsii (work just fine) 80 GB ata Maxtor Diamond Max Plus 9 in an ADS firewire enclosure (works fine) and the problem===>30 GB WD Protege and a Sonnet ata Tempo Hd PCI card. I tried installing OS 9.2.2 on the 30 GB, it worked except for the HD hanging or locking up the computer. Eventually I would like to go to OS X. But, if I can't get this thing to work in OS 9.1 much less 9.2 forget OS X. It doesn't seem to matter what drive I copy to from the 30 GB, it will hang on long files.
