Thank you for being one of the few who've responded to this problem. I appreciate it---a lot. I know I've read somewhere about this problem of the ata HD hanging, but it's been so long since I've seen the solution that I don't remember it. I do remember it has to do w/timing and bus speed----I think. LOL!!! Just getting old I guess. Mine is an ata TempoHD 133. After all the perusing of the archive I've done in the last month or so, I've a hunch that your hunch is correct. I'm going to save my money and see if I can't find a different brand.
