Sorry, I have not been following this thread more closely.

You might take a look at the firmware update options on ACARD's and Promise's web sites. One of those might solve your problem.

Last summer I purchased one of the Sonnet Tempo Ultra ATA/133 dual bus cards to put in a G3B&W that I was setting up as a server for our small business. The Sonnet firmware only allowed for RAID 0 with OSX Server. I flashed the card with a firmware upgrade and now I can boot from and use RAID 1 with the server software. I don't remember if I found the firmware on ACARD's or Promise's site (I don't have my notes on that handy). At the time I bought the PCI card there were at least three "brands" available. However, they were all made by the same company. Sonnet just chose to include its own firmware etc.
