The other day I responded to a post concering troubles with a sonnet ATA setup.
It was a big long post after I had spent all day fixing a problem with corruption of my Sonnet Tempo ATA 100 card and my VeloCD Cdrom burner and my 120 gig WD HD. I had discovered some unfixable mangling which Apple's First Aid and the Norton Utilities wouldn't touch. I tried the final test of running Spin Doctor and handing a record album over to Toast to burn. Nothing has changed. The s900 siezes up. A little dialog says something like "Spin Doctor Bus Error". Aside from the frustration, I thought bus was something you ride in and a buss had to do with electrical equipment. Prior to this I went to Sonnet and downloaded their firmware updater and the firmware on my ATA 100 is now version 4.0. How do you fix this? This used to work and then it quit working and I have no idea what to do now. I am planning on some unbusy day to completely tear apart my s900 and put it back together again and blow out the dust and reseat all the cards and cables to mess with any potential oxidation. There's no point in doing that with it not working. Mark Murphy -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
