The SSE version was only needed with the Mac 8500-9600Computers. It fixed a PCI issue the S900 didn't have due to a different design.Since it was more expensive, there was no need to buy it for a S900 upgrade. Paul C

I could be wrong, but I believe Daystar told me that they no longer produce this particular carrier card as it was problematic. You can use the regular "non-SSE" carrier card instead.
