I bought a Samsung ML-1450 laserprinter to use with a C-500. I was hoping the printer port on the Asante router would connect it to the C-500 but no dice. So I got a USB card for the C-500 which worked fine.
Then I decided to use one of the two card slots for a video card--eliminating the USB card-- so now I'm back to an Epson Color Stylus 900 as a serial printer. If I spent $150 for a network card for the Samsung, I'm hoping there might be a less expensive alternative such as a serial to USB adaptor that might work . . . or maybe something else?
If that's the older Color Stylus 900 with the Type B Epson slot in the back, you can get a LocalTalk or an Ethernet (both 10 and 10/100 available) card for it for under $30 if you look around a bit--probably Ebay. Possibly as low as $10.
