I am running an s900 with Sonnet G4/800Mhz which goes through different periods of stability and not. I find it confusing as to why this system can be stable for long extended periods, and then become really troublesome with constant freezes. Any clues? I know from past posts that this is not a recommended combination but am stuck with the card, and unfortunately sonnet ha never provided any answers.

Perhaps it's not the processor.
And it seems like an excessive expenditure (these days) to replace the Sonnet 800 mhz G4 with a 900 G4 zif/carrier on a s900.
Heat ?
an aging HD ?
do you own a copy of DiskWarrior ?
time to do a complete reformat and start fresh ?
if you are running X, do you have enough HD capacity ?
if you are using IDE drives, have you considered plopping in a new one and operating from it.
Also, since I'm a big proponent of voltage stabilized power supplies either in the form of UPS or voltage stabilizer,
are you running your s900 through such a device ?
