If you get a combo card it almost always needs to be placed in the two top slots of the S900 and make sure drivers are available.

With plain old USB cards Macs generally work with one kind, but not the other (OHCP vs UHCP or something) - you may need to download the drivers from Apple.

There are no USB 2.0 drivers for OS 9 that I am aware of for any brand. Proper cards will work at USB 1.1 speeds though.

I've been looking at eBay for adding a Firewire USB combo card to my s900.

I already have a usb pci card in the s900. It works OK. I've been looking on the PC side of eBay and these things are cheap. Should I go with a 1.1 or a 2.0? I'm running system 9.2 whatever.

I also have been considering getting just a 2.0 card for my digital G4. The G4 runs 10.39. These cards are very cheap.

Its my understanding that the MacOS after 9.0 supports these things. Any ideas?
