Hi! I was a SuperMacs list member eons and ages ago. I remember many of
you, like Kennedy, Jeff Walther, Nancy Haitz, Will and others, but you
are quite forgiven if you don't remember me. My name's Tony.
Anyway, on to resuming my leechlike relationship to your nourishing
minds. I still have my S900, still running OS 9.1. Obviously, that's a
lot of years and a lot of documents. In this era of ever-more-intrusive
government, I'd love software that wipes clean the entire portion of the
hard drive that doesn't have something I still want on it.
VersionTracker led me to a product called Freerasor from
SubRosaSoft.com. But the maker says they've dropped the Classic version
because of poor sales. (Not that I can blame them.)
I tried MacWasher, and it isn't designed to do the whole job I want done
-- it just erases the cache folders. I want to make blotto the whole
hard drive, all that stuff that the overeager police see when they bring
your computer into the station (not that my life is so interesting or my
criminal activity that active; I'm just paranoid of the Patriot Act).
Anybody got Freerasor? Anybody got alternatives? Anybody got
suggestions? Anybody got milk?
Thanks,
Tony
