I would like to get my hands on versions 2.04, 4.0, 4.01, 4.5 and
4.7 of iTunes. However, only 4.8 is downloadable from Apple any
more. If you have the download file for one or more of these and
want to help me, please send me an email offlist to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Some of you may have seen my thread over on Unsupported OSX. I'm
setting up a Roku Sound Bridge <http://www.rokulabs.com>. It
requires a Music Server in order to work and iTunes 4.0 is the first
version which supports Music Sharing, i.e. acts as a Music Server.
However, iTunes version 4.8 requires OSX 10.2.8, whereas the earlier
versions will run on 10.1.5. I will be getting 10.2.8 soon, but I'd
like the option to run the older software too. Plus I'm a little
compulsive about having old versions of software around, and didn't
notice Apple releasing and pulling stuff. In the "old days" Apple
would have older versions of software available on their FTP site.
Now days, they don't even have a publically accessible FTP site.
Version 2.04 of iTunes is the last version that will run on OS
Classic and I may want to do some of my ripping on a machine other
than the Music Server, and none of my machines are running OSX
yet--the Music Server will be the first one.
