Well, I fear, that goes beyond my capabilities now. ;-) And, as I mentioned, I was also not really interested in most of the features of this extension, only in the "Clear URL bar" function. With a new research in the net now I have found another maintained extension for this purpose, "Neo Diggler" (a name that says everything ;-). This is primarily a Firefox extension, but there exists also an adaptation to Seamonkey (as part of the xsidebar project http://xsidebar.mozdev.org).
