The point I'm making is that if this is a one-way trip, and once you run
2.1 on your real profile you need to do a restore from a backup most
users don't have and don't know how to do. This should be VERY carefully
documented.
I've been happy, what works seems to work well, be there's bunch which
doesn't.
I went from 2.06 to 2.1a2. Clicking on the "Home" icon did not work so I
reverted back to 2.06. I just re-installed 2.06 and the install package
found everything and it is working okay. If you installed 2.1a2 over
1.1x, then you may have more problems.
I never install anything over the distribution version, but even so anything
which changes the profile could be an issue if you can't easily go back.
2.1 SUGGESTION: add "clone profile" capability, give the old a new names and
have the cloning done by software which knows what to update.
