personally, I would suspect that the site saved the information in one of it's cookies... since it's a local political group, the probability is high that the site is run by young volunteers who may not have a good understanding of contributors' privacy concerns.

Not sure where it's located, but sm 1.1.17 _asks_ if I want to save the data after it's entered.

fwiw, a good keyboard macro program can bypass the sm forms data completely, is faster and more accurate to use that then, give you more control and allow you to keep sensitive information in a secure location.

Finally, consider dedicating one _credit_ card as a "web only, only web" card and have the provider set it's limit low... the way things are going, doing so has a good chance of paying off later.
