When you save the file and play it outside of SeaMonkey, what program
plays it??
Maybe someone here can give the required advise to get it to work
directly by double clicking the email link!!

I have the same problem, and after saving to computer I use
IrfanView to play it. It would be nice to view these FROM email.
(SM 2.0.8 in Win XP sp3)
Same here in SM 2.0.8 with the Microsoft® Windows Media Player Firefox
Plugin. It opens a blank browser window but doesn't play the file.
I went to Preferences - Browser - Helper Applications, selected Windows
Media Video File and changed it from the plugin to Use Windows Media
Player. Now right-clicking the .wmv file in an email and choosing Open
runs the file in WMP.
