Sympathies.

My experience is completely different -- I've had two WinXP systems for over five years each, both updated to SP3 when it came out, and have never had an SM hang with any version of SM or WinXP.

True, there've been times when SM didn't perform precisely as expected or slowed down momentarily -- the most obvious case is if it downloads mail while I'm watching a video, the video will freeze while the audio continues -- but I haven't had any hangs or crashes.

Lucky? Clean living and a fast outfield? Who knows?
