My question is on-topic because it relates to the operation of Add-ons

Of course : I wouldn't dream of categorising someone else's
message as being off-topic.

By the way, I have Windows XP Home Edition Version 5.1 (Build
2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.101209-1647: Service Pack 3), which is still being
maintained by Micro$oft and is thus current.

OK, so how about upgrading to Windows XP Home Edition N,
which also has Media Player removed ?
