using Lightning with Seamonkey and my Google calendar for quite a while,
would hate to lose the facility now.

Install 0.21pre from here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/seamonkey/addon/provider-for-google-calendar/versions/
That fixed it for me on 2.17.
:) I take it back. For some reason, it failed to install the first time
round. Just tried again, this time it is working.
