Perhaps, but as a professional translator with nearly 30 years'
experience, I'm pretty well attuned to that sort of thing and I've never
noticed anything in Trane's posts that seemed nonnative. Not even
cross-cultural influences such as "it's hard to say" for "no." ;-)
He's said plenty of things I didn't quite agree with, but they always
sounded like native English to me. I don't think he's "gone native." ;-)
