If you are recording a matching gift, you presumably have two 
separate donations, one from the individual and one from the 
organization. I'm suggesting only to cross-reference them using the 
Pay Memo field.

That would work, though if your pop-up with the donor's name 
contained all your donors it could be pretty cumbersome.

At first glance, I think it would take:
-creating a self-relationship within paymnts_.102 using a calculated 
key, =Record Number & "Match", for example
- creating a calculated field that sums the payments from this relationship
- creating a lookup field (the "Fast Find" field) which looks up the 
value of the calculated field above
- adding steps to the Replace All Find Fields and Replace Current 
Find fields scripts to update this field.
