You are right about ebase v2, it will be based on FileMaker Pro 5. If you
upgrade from ebase v1 to v2, you will also need to upgrade your FileMaker.

A $50 rebate per license is a pretty good deal, but I don't think it
portends of an immediate upgrade of FileMaker to v6. The only thing that
FileMaker has announced is a small add-on application to allow you to sync a
FileMaker file with your Palm device. Due around the end of this year, and
we will design ebase v2 to take advantage of it.

As for the previous thread about FileMaker training and books, I agree with
the general sentiment that the more you know about FileMaker you easier you
fill find getting under the ebase hood.
