When you say "at several points", what do you mean?  Do you mean that it created some 
records in one file and some in another?  All from the one execution of one script?  
That would be odd indeed..  And there's nothing in any of the scripts we discussed 
that would actually create a new file.  Are you sure it wasn't there already?  If so, 
that could be part of your problem, if some references are pointing to the other file.
