Q. we have about a 5,000 item database in Access. will we be able to
import
our old database into a new ebase database?
A
Yes,
Export your current database to a single 'comma-delimited' file (*.CSV).
You can do this using either Access and export each table to .CSV format,
or export your table data to Excel and use Save As to save the data in
*.CSV format.
Then use the import data function of ebase to imported the content into
ebase. The routine will allow you to link specific access fields to the
correct ebase field.
If you want to import payment data or anything more complex than member
vital statistics, you will require knowledge of FileMaker Pro and data
migration techniques.
Contact me if you require assistance with this process.
