There's probably no way not to have a (web-), as it might be better for
"casual observers".
But for reading (or skimming) every message, a mailinglist is better.
And currently, I have the feeling that I better read every damn message
(or posting), so I don't miss anything important.
Does your forum-software offer an option to cc every posting to some
sort of distribution address?
You could create a special mailinglist for that, that is basically
read-only and only distributes the posting to those who want to read
them all.
It would be a brute-force solution, but better than nothing, IMHO.
