Hi Scott,

I really appreciate your help on here. You have been awesome. I read the thread with great interest and learned a lot, but that wasn't my problem in the end... however, I fixed it!

Maybe it helped to sleep on it, I don't know. I woke up this morning with another idea... in my dns forwarder I had hostname.domain.org. However, I also have www.domain.org assigned to that box as well. I discovered this by accident, but it appears in the DNS forwarder doesn't play nicely with two FQDN for the same host. Now that I am just using www.domain.org , everything seems ticketyboo. As this only appears as an internal thing, I just have to make sure that if I am using the FQDN, that I use www.domain.org regardless of what service I am after or the ip address. To outsiders who are using a public ip, they won't know the difference.

Thanks for the help.

Donovan

I have my LAN set up with my workstations 102.168.67/24 and I have a

mapping a public IP to my server. 10.0.0.10

From the office when I go to my webserver, it is fast and performs as
expected. However, from within the LAN accessing the website is slow and
times out. I don't have many rules and for testing purposes I disabled most of them with no affect. Anybody got any ideas where I need to look to sort this out ? I can ping my server with no problem... email access is fine...
it just doesn't make sense!

Any ideas, no matter how unlikely, greatly appreciated.

Maybe this thread will help:
