(Might affect which yahoo server you use and the version of the protocol.) Which other yahoo clients have you successfully used from the same machine, with the same ISP. What is logged in the debug log, as described in <http://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/TipsForBugReports>? Anything else that might give a clue as to how your use differs from that of the many people for which it works.
