I have changed the domain to talk.google.com as suggested below, and it is still not connecting - I note in the debug below that it's still showing gmail ?! I shut down Pidgin and restarted it, now it's showing talk.google.com but still not connecting - I've got another debug, see below the first one...
I also see that the Protocol is set to XMPP which I tried to set to Gtalk but it still won't connect and if I look at the Protocol it's reset itself to XMPP, it won't stay as Gtalk ?! I have followed the info at http://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/Protocol%20Specific%20Questions#gtalk_srvand it returns the not found/timed out as described... I am not able to find a DNS Server setting in my Safecom wireless router to ensure that it's unticked as suggested (07:37:58) *util:* Writing file prefs.xml to directory C:\Documents and Settings\Us\Application Data\.purple (07:37:58) *util:* Writing file C:\Documents and Settings\Us\Application Data\.purple\prefs.xml (07:38:03) *util:* Writing file accounts.xml to directory C:\Documents and Settings\Us\Application Data\.purple (07:38:03) *util:* Writing file C:\Documents and Settings\Us\Application Data\.purple\accounts.xml (07:38:03) *util:* Writing file blist.xml to directory C:\Documents and Settings\Us\Application Data\.purple (07:38:03) *util:* Writing file C:\Documents and Settings\Us\Application Data\.purple\blist.xml (07:38:04) *proxy:* Connecting to gmail.com:5222.
