One of the problems people have with XMPP is with LAN to WAN routers that do not implement DNS properly. I don't remember the correct sequence for Google properly, but this timeout is worrying. I seem to remember earlier replies on this list suggesting hard coding the result of this query, which you might want to try searching for.
DNS queries should produce results or fail quickly. They shouldn't time out.
Explicitly setting your ISP as DNS server may also help.
If there is a work around solution to the problem, please let me know because I'd really like to use the Pidgin service.
Pidgin is not a service, it is a multi-service client program. Google IK is the service in this case.

RFC1855 says there should be an address here, but, in a world of spam, that is no longer good advice, as archive address hiding may not work. _______________________________________________ [email protected] mailing list Want to unsubscribe?
