Hi David,
When I think about security I mean data goes outside of our network. We need a messenger between employees and I chose pidgin because of bonjour protocol which doesn't need to connect to a server outside of our network. So my question is : do you know a messenger able to connect to LDAP ? If I install Novell protocol on my windows server, do you think that pidgin can use it to authenticate users ? If you are concerned about security, you definitely do not want a client program, like Pidgin, accessing the password database. > > Another thing is I wanted to use AD because I thought that users can > make chatrooms. I also searched for LDAP, and the only hit was for the "Novell" protocol, which presumably mean Groupwise. > -- David Woolley Emails are not formal business letters, whatever businesses may want. RFC1855 says there should be an address here, but, in a world of spam, that is no longer good advice, as archive address hiding may not work.
