I've got a full 2 hours (just) out of Ultras, powering a TetraMic.
then switched to the freshly charged Energizers, which lasted the rest of the day (not continuously) with no problems. I guess that the 2600 mA versions would be even better.
My experience of high capacity NiMH batteries (i.e. >1700 mAhr), used with a digital camera, is that they are chronically unreliable; I would not consider relying on them for a recording.
I took to using AA Lithium cells (1.6V) in the camera, and got far more life out of them than any other batteries. At £15 for eight, they are ruinously expensive - but they just work. I note that the Tascam manual forbids "Lithium" cells - but unlike other Li technologies, these have a reasonable voltage.
