Hi Tom

What bit depth, and sample rate are your tracks, and the project?
Are they mono continuous tracks, or are there loads of different
multichannel small slices?

I am running over 100 3rd order non continuous tracks (mono, stereo, 5.1,
1st-3rd order files) to a 36 channel rig, on a 2009 macpro.
Yes it gets a little sticky, and delayed play/arm etc as the tracks and
plugs mount up, but no drop outs.
I am running from internal 6 drive raid and ssd.
So that may be your problem...
Are you using the block decoders from blueripple? Because if you aren't,
then that rig maybe a bit to much for one core/thread.

Fire over your settings, and i will see if i can help.

Best

Steve
