Good for you, but maybe not every DVD player has one? That was what I
wanted to point out. DOS users often have to ask for drivers for things we
get.

Yes, fast CDs are noisy if the CD isn't completly flat (you can often see
with your own eyes what CDs are going to make the player sound incredibly
much)
Another thing about DVD readers are that they might not be able to read all
home-made CDs. They are also not so slow on the speed, but the searchtime
makes them really slow (like what the 2X-4X CDs had sometimes!) I have 65ms
on my CD (32X) and it's much faster on finding files than my 4X/8X CD
Recorder (1xx ms I can't really remember right now)

Do you have any DVD movies? I wonder what format they are in (eg. can they
be played in DOS?) the only CD movies I have are in (Xing) MPEG format so I
can't play them in DOS.
