Does anyone know of a free or cheap program that will check URL links to see
if they are dead -- that runs under DOS? I have collected over 100 web link
``favorites'' in my wanderings, and really dont want to click them one by
one to see if they died.

I know there are fancy expensive programs like this to validate websites
(e.g., Astra Site Manager), but all I need is the right perl script, or
similar tool, to spider through these things and report, ``dead''
``alive''.

Any suggestions?
