I would also like to have a program that does this chore. One possibility
would be to Ping a user-defined list of URLs and listen for replies. This
should be relatively easy to do, compared to FTP, email or whatever.
Although Ping won't tell you about changes in content, it would tell you
if the site still exists. But does a Ping test try the specific URL,
or just the server it resides on?
