indeed that Microtek scanner (type MSF-300G) was to work *directly* as
is with a Mac's SCSI port through a 25-pin connection (which is in fact,
kind of an upgraded parallel port) - this is probably why I did not get
the (PC-)"dedicated" slot card when I found it for (then) rediculous <
80 US$ (equiv. - original marketing price of that thing here was 2300
USD...)
Matter of looking at the pin connections thus (most important, to
avoid ground short-circuits); that beast came with a not very verbose
but sufficiently precise manual (including pins, signals descriptions/
drawings).
Maybe that there are quite some of those around which had been
disigned for that first-generatio SCSI (the Mac's domain) in the first
hand.
