I got a reply to my inquiry which follows:

"At this stage PetrOS is still in the alpha stage of development.  The GUI
hasn't been developed
yet and so it hard to say what it is going to be like.  At this stage
PetrOS doesn't support 16bit
applications and supports generic hardware configurations.  As the
development progresses the
list of supported hardware will increase depending on demand."

Doesn't sound so great yet....
