I haven't been following this thread, but windows (3.x and 95) can both be operated w/o a mouse. I don't have a mouse on my 95 box at work, and do just fine. However, also keep in mind, windows doesn't like to share irq lines, so if your mouse is on com1, put the internal modem on com4, and if the mouse is on com2, put the modem on com3. Hope this helps.
