I agree. They are good for cutting through all the bloated
eye candy. I used to use lynx a lot. However, one of the
main sites I visit uses a BIG table as a menu and lynx can't
cope. However, I recently discovered a new text browser
which does tables perfectly. It also does frames and other
formatting things that lynx doesn't do. And it's only half
the size of lynx!
The browser is called w3m. I'm running it under Linux CLI,
but I think versions are available for other OS. I've only
been using it for a few weeks, but it leaves lynx in the
dust.
