I've used it to play Doom on three monitors on in that exact same computer.
So any hardware faults are IMO unlikely - but so I thought on my main
machine with that NIC - but W95 and Linux wouldn't work with it at first
either.

Yes, it's a NE2000 compatible. Hmm... perhaps I shouldn't have thrown the
box away (I did that a few days ago). It's called a SN2000 - and it's
claimed to be NE2000 compatible. It works with NE2000 drivers in DOS.
An interesting note is that DR-DOS 7.03 can't ID the card in it's setup
utility (thereby forced me to create my own "driver files" (dummy files
that didn't to anything) so I could install the server).

I've tried 300-360 (with 20 in increment).

Yes, I've got that (Slackware 3.x) somewhere around here - I didn't have a
NIC in the computer when I installed that version.

Ok, I'll try it again with a DOS floppy (just to make sure that the card is
still working).
