Hi Andy,

Your problem is that you are not loading enough
drivers in high memory.

The following drivers should have LH before them. If
it doesn't load high it will still work so you should
try to load everything in high memory. The following
SHOULD load high:

*Mouse driver (you can try cute mouse which is very
small)
*mscdex
*SNDINIT.EXE /b
*guest.exe

You should also try to load DRDOS high.
Type in your config.sys the following:

dos=high,umb

Another option is to install QUEMM which is now
freeware, it will free memory automatically. WARNING!!
I don't know if QUEMM is compatible with DRDOS, you
should check it out before using it!!
If you can't find QUEMM I can e-mail it to you.

You should be able to have at least 600kb free low
memory no matter how many drivers you are loading. I
know that DRDOS is very good at freeing high memory so
all your drivers should go there.

If you type MEM/C you should see all the programs
which are running in memory. ONLY these should be in
low memory:

*DRDOS (only part of it as the other part should be
loaded high with DOS=HIGH;UMB )
*SMARTDRV (Only part of it the other part should be in
high memory, type LH before smartdrv)
*COMMAND

Good luck,

Inigo

PD: If you e-mail me the result after typing mem/c I
may be able to further help you in recovering low
memory.
