A lot of you who see this, dont need Xandros. But we all know windoz
users who'd do better getting away from Microsoft and all the sabotage
software that is attacking MS Windows. I've been using Xandros for a few
months now, and happily ran it's predecessor, Corel Debian, for years.

DOS users will like it because it automatically finds and mounts any
DOS/WIN drives/partitions; no matter what the file system, even a
greenhorn windoz newbie can see the drives all listed and marked if Read
Only. It aint hard to setup the user interface so that a windoz user
would not even know the diff.

Another thing they dont talk about, is that as inheritor of the Corel
distro, they got the *user manual*. The reason for the notorious steep
learning curve of Linux, is that some dont even send user manuals, while
the rest are written by dyslexic geeks. Corel starting writing user
manuals nearly 20 years ago, and they had it down. It didnt take much
for the Xandros people to update a clearly written document.

Which looks like a new market model, to give away the software, but
offer to sell the hardcopy manual. Beats the hell out of a global
monopoly in operating systems. Xandros wants 128 meg DRAM, but Corel
works fine on an older PC with 64; maybe 32 if you're careful. However,
Corel only has Netwscape 4.7, which is difficult to update.
