I use only xdosemu. A long time ago (DOSemu 1.0.0, IIRW) had so many
problems with CLI that I stopped using it for good. I don't know about the
newer versions, though.
I run X on 1024x768, and WordPerfect graphics mode is VESA 800x600x256.
Quattro Pro is only capable of 640x480x16, but it runs flawlessly.
More important (for me) is that I can run either Paradox or Quattro Pro in
132x43 text mode. In that mode you lose 4 columns (either left or right,
you choose), but you can work perfectly without them. I didn't try
WordPerfect text modes extensively; if I run it in text mode, 80x43 is
enough for me, and it does work.
As for printing, it goes without a glitch. The only quirk I have found is
that pcAnywhere doesn't "see" the local printer, so if you want to print
on the remote machine (the one I am running DOSemu in) you are forced to
print to disk and later print the file to the printer. All in all, a good
bargain, methinks.
Of course, these minimal quirks are more than compensated for the ability
to run, say, Opera latest and greatest side by side with Quattro Pro!
Think of the possibilities!
And, just to mention one of them, thanks to your findings, your DOS
programs (I am very fond of Rexx and, of course PAL, Paradox programming
language) now can interact with the Linux host via NCSA rsh!

Thank you again!
