My understanding is there have been 3 ships that have suffered the
same problem(s), as all systems are run by NT. Or, I should say, NOT
run by NT.<bg>

VERY true! We're about to change our connection to the net in my
dept. at Cornell Univ. to XDSL. We've been using NT on a dual P-5
server, and of course, have had nothing but problems with NT for over
2 years! I was asked yesterday, "Why don't you just us NT for the
mail server and firewall for now, and we'll get a new server and SuSE
in a few months." This was from our "bean counter." I said, "I won't
do it." It was worth the look on his face! Then, I explained that he
already KNOWS NT isn't stable, it would make more work for me, and NT
is loaded with security holes, not to mention memory leaks and
NON-recovery of RAM! NO WAY am I going to put NT on a full-time live
feed! Then I told him we'd have to spend at least $1,500 in
software......NOT!

Best,

Fred
