[SuSE Linux] changing window manager

hi. =)

 

i have a problem using kde1.0.  how do i make it the default window manager? according to the faq3.html i downloaded from kde.org, i  should edit the files '.Xsession' or '.xinitrc'. but the problem is i cannot find those files in '/root'. and i only have 1 enabled user and that is root. i changed the 'xinitrc' file *suppose to be the generic xinitrc* in '/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit'. i commented the lines after the line 'start some nice programs' and added 'startkde'. but it is still loading fvwm2.  i've added the original 'xinitrc' file localed in '/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit'  to this email . i'm a newbie with linux. and i don't really know what to do.
