I finally got my Diamond A50 which uses the infamous sis6326 chip
in the xf86config I used the standard sis6326 driver 5?? something , them
manually changed /etc/XF86Config around lines 507 un commenting and editing
the following
vidioram 8192 //un comment and edit
no_accell // un comment
no_linear // was not there , added this in.
Then starx --bpp 16
to start in 16 bpp mode. This gives a nice workable setup with readable
menus and white widows with readable letters and background.
there is also a setting "sw_cursor" I did not use this , as the above got
it working.Hope this helps some of you out there with this notois chip<grin>
