As I had mentioned in the "Pros" section of my previous message, the
upgrade of all my systems was very smooth. The only thing that really
gave me grief was the IP_FORWARD thing on my server system.
I saw I could have installed the shlib5 package but I wanted make a
clean break from libc5 on all of my SuSE 6.0 system. I was successful in
doing this on all of my systems except for my personal workstation. I
use WordPerfect 8.0 and it only supports libc5 at this time.
The upgrade to SuSE 6.0 was my third upgrade of SuSE since I started
using it back at version 5.2. The only thing that keeps changing is that
it's taking longer and longer to install all of the packages. I keep
installing more and more stuff off of those SuSE CD's. It's really very
impressive the collection of stuff they've put together on their set.
For most of the free stuff I use, a majority of it has been installed
from the packages on the CDs. This is a big time saver as I don't have
to go out and download stuff of the net that often anymore.
